THE MODERN SPANISH

The standardized Spanish is called Castilian in order to distinguish with other dialects of Spain. Such languages are Galician, Basques and Catalan. From 16th century, it is called the Classical Spanish or also known as the gModern Spanishh.Spanish is derived from a dialect in Latin that evolved in the North Central part of Iberian Peninsula after the Western Empire has fallen.The standard Spanish was written and developed in Toledo and Madrid. Over the years, the language expanded to Mediterranean Sea and was transferred to the Spanish Colonial Empire, mostly to the America. With the Reconquisita, the dialect spread to south replacing the absorbed dialect spread of the south such as the Moorish Arabic and Judaeo-spanish.
